My dear Polinka,
It is very sad that I have not received anything from you recently. I believe you are very important lady now and you as a matter of fact are very busy so you don’t have to write often? I received a letter and four postcards from Ehrlich. Aunt Masha is living well. Shika is the same. One young soldier came back and when Lisichka saw him, she thought he was Aron and she asked him. And where is Aunt Polya? Did she come? She put so much powder on her face, I remember, when she was little.
