I greet you my dear Polinka. Don’t be surprised that there is no date on this postcard because the new year is coming in ten minutes. I am sitting alone. There is nobody at home here. Everybody is celebrating the new year. The new year is promising something to us but I am not going to ask for anything good. From my experiences I can see when you ask for something good, something bad happens. Oh how nice. What I am going to ask for that the new year would be not worse than this one. Being lonely here this evening, of course, I’m thinking about you a close person so far away from me now. I cannot picture you in America how you look like. I haven’t seen you for three years and I am not sure if we are going to see each other again. It’s up to a destiny to decided, isn’t it? Be healthy. I kiss you. Your Tsillie.
