On The Quays, Albert Creswell

ii/V (French date, May 2nd )

Arnoldushka, Hi. I received your letter yesterday date 14/27 and before that I received a postcard 12/25 and also a letter 12/05. I forgot to give you in my letters the dates. I am longing a lot. I am waiting when you finally come here. I want it to happen soon that you will come here so I can take a rest. My mood is dull and oppressed. I cannot sleep, and it bothers me. I am too weak, but the reason/explanation for it, I need my close friend who can understand me to be here. It’s unbearable to live like that any longer. I envy those who are not able to think or feel anything. All they can do is use us as a doormat. How did you like my illustrations in the letter I sent yesterday? When I wrote this postcard already, they brought the money to me, the whole amount. Polya. I purchased postcards today, and I am sending one of them to you. I received the newspaper. Do not send any more. Just write about everything in details. Gorky. [It means bitter.]
