My adorable friend, dear Polya. Yesterday I promised to write a letter to you, but when I came home at 12:00 midnight tired to death. I wanted to write a letter, but unfortunately I didn’t have any paper, any envelope, any postage at home. That’s why I am writing this postcard at the station. I am going to Odessa, and I am going to write a letter to you in Odessa. I received your letter yesterday, my dear soul. Why are you in the mood like that? These are the last days of our separation. As soon as I come back from Odessa, I will quit immediately. Everything is ready already and I am going to be traveling on the first of May to my dear soul. So I am saying good-bye to you for two days only. Please be healthy and happy. I am begging you. If you think I am dear to you, please change your mood because I have to cry all the time. It’s such a pity. I kiss you, my dear. I took the picture of you with me. Yours, Uncle Ooch.
